It's that time of the year again! It's the third week of October which can only mean it is the National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW). Now in its twentieth year since its inception the Canadian Association of Animal Health Technologists and Technicians illustrate the goals of NVTW 2013.

Check out the NVTW slideshow that our Animal Health Technologist students completed in 2011.

32 cowboys tied themselves to rank bulls while Doug Young provided play by play to a packed riding arena.

Ty Patten from Buck Lake went on to win the title and buckle with a combined score of 174 points.

Check out the gallery of incredible photos below, and in our Flickr album.
Schools of Bull Riding and Fighting View More ∇
The Lakeland College riding arena was a busy venue on a weekend that included The Bull riding school, The Bull Fighting School and the CPRA Bull Riding Event.

The Bull Riding School was instructed by Bruce Johansen and Scott Schiffner, both professional bull riders. The school ran three days – April 4 to 6, and was open to beginners and students with some previous experience. There was unlimited stock for students to practice on. Students of the school also received a free ticket to attend the CPRA Bull Riding Event on the Saturday evening.

The Bull Fighting School ran in conjunction with the Bull Riding School and was instructed by Scott Byrne and Lakeland alumnus Curtis Smyth. Both Scott and Curtis were bull fighters at the CPRA Bull Riding Event on Saturday evening.
2014 Staff Fun Rodeo View More ∇
The Ag-citing and Little Royal weekend events were capped off with Staff Fun Rodeo on a weekday evening.

Organized by the Stockman's Club with assistance from the Rodeo Club this is all about letting off steam and having fun. And you can trust Ag Sciences to show everyone how to have a good time!

Students competed with staff in a number of events with points dropped for playing by the rules.

If you cannot view the embedded gallery below, then see our Flickr gallery for lots of great photos. You can even pick a rodeo queen (just hope she doesn't pick you!).
