Electrician Red Seal Preparation

This course will enhance the knowledge of electricians working within the electrical industry. It is designed to help certified Journeyperson Electricians prepare to challenge the Inter-Provincial Construction Electrician exam, also known as Red Seal Exam.

The course content is designed to follow the National Occupational Analysis, providing information in each of the following areas:

  1. Occupational Skills
  2. Distribution & Services
  3. Wiring Methods
  4. Motors & Control Systems
  5. Signaling & Communication Systems
  6. Upgrading, Service & Maintenance
This course will run for four weekends every SECOND weekend. 


The course will include classroom lecture, discussion time and practice questions designed similar to the questions encountered on the Red Seal exam. It is presented in a clear, simple and easy to understand course format, where you will build your trade knowledge, sharpen up your question and answer skills and review your readiness for the exam.

Registration Information

Candidates must be proficient in English language to register.

You are required to buy your own current edition of the Canadian Electrical Code (2015 edition- approximately $200) as well as paper & pens.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

  1. If you withdraw two full days before the course starts, you will receive a 100 percent refund
  2. If you withdraw after the first class and before the second class, you will receive a 50 percent refund
  3. There are no refunds after the second class
  4. You must notify Lakeland College if you withdraw. Not coming to a lessons doesn't qualify as a notice of withdrawal.
