NFPA 1035 Standards for Fire & Life Safety Educatorfront cover of IFSTA Fire & Life Safety Education textbook

Prepare yourself to develop and deliver community-based fire and life safety programs with NFPA 1035 training.

This training is for more than just firefighters. It’s open to civilian members of a fire service and non-fire service workers who are responsible for public safety awareness.

Lakeland College Emergency Training Centre (ETC) offers two levels of training.
  • Level 1 covers adapting, preparing, presenting and evaluating fire and safety information. It includes 5 days of theory. Then you have 12 weeks to complete an assignment in your community.
  • In Level 2 you go deeper into risk assessment, community priorities, developing policy and program evaluation.

Both levels use the same textbook: Fire and Life Safety Educator 3rd edition published by the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA).

This course will be scheduled when certification is available.
