Hairstyling Certificate - Further Study
This certificate completes the first 1,400 hours and all of the technical training required for you to become a journeyman hairstylist.
After graduating from our program, your next step is to find an employer to do 1,400 more on-the-job hours. Then, you'll register as an apprentice. Contact your local Apprenticeship & Industry Training (AIT) office for more details.
When you finish those hours, you will write the journeyman exam.
At this time, you may also write an interprovincial red seal exam that gives you credentials to work anywhere in Canada.
If you are interested in running your own business, or if you want to get into management, you can also earn a blue seal. You must complete 150 hours in one of more business subject ares.
Lakeland's esthetician certificate program is an option that broadens your skills into beauty, skin care, anti-aging and stress reduction.
