Instructor contributes to textbook

Angela Wilm’s dedication to inclusive education has resulted in some formal recognition in a new edition of a textbook that is used by human services students at Lakeland and at other institutions.

Teaching Students with Special Needs in Inclusive Settings
(Fourth Canadian edition) from Pearson Education was recently released and includes input that Wilm contributed to as a peer evaluator for the book. She was asked for her input by the publisher last year. Other reviewers are from University of Ottawa, Sheridan Institute of Advanced Learning & technology in Ontario, Nipissing University, and Concordia.

Lakeland students in the educational assistant, child and youth care, and early learning and child care use the book during their studies. In addition to the latest and current information about inclusive education, it also provides students with a code that gives student access to “myeducationlab” online resource, videos, for students training for the field.

Students have option of buying hard copy or ebook. For more information contact Angela Wilm at angela.wilm@lakelandcollege.ca.
