Put Your People Skills To Work With Our Human Services Programs

Children & Youth Focus in Vermilion

Our Vermilion campus programs focus on working with children and youth. This includes child and youth care, early learning and child care certificate and diploma and educational assistant.

You'll be in class for 11 weeks and then have a 4 week practicum each semester.

We've introduced blended-learning to our early learning and child and youth care programs. You will take the majority of classes face-to-face and a few of your classes online. We also offer both programs online--so, you can earn while you learn. Also offered online is our community mental health certificate

Most practicums will be off-site at schools, agencies and organizations. Some are local, and some are farther afield. As part of our international practicum experience, we headed to Hawaii again in 2016.

Lakeland College also offers a certificate in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies and a diploma in Sign Language Interpretation. Classes are held at the Alberta School for the Deaf giving students the opportunity to be immersed in deaf culture.
