Animal Assisted Therapy View More ∇

Introduction to animal assisted therapy is an elective course in the early learning and child care diploma and curriculum for Child and Youth Care. Lakeland College's programs are unique with the inclusion of this course.

Second year students from both programs have been taking an annual field trip to Dreamcatcher psychological practice near Ardrossan.

Dreamcatcher Nature Assisted Therapy Association is based on a 40-acre ranch that offers specialized services to help people who have not found success in other forms of treatment. Dreamcatcher is one of the leading organizations in animal assisted therapy in Canada.

During the tour students spent time with a variety of the ranches’ animals to get a deeper understanding of the specialized therapy services used by the Dreamcatcher team.
