Hop on the Transfer Train

two modern graphic trains headed in two different directionsProspective university transfer students are invited to hop on the transfer train to take the next leg of your journey towards an university education. The next session is March 9, 2018.

Here's what's on the agenda:
  • hear about the UT experience of current and former students
  • learn about transfer routes
  • meet the academic advisor and be guided through course selection
  • meet and talk with instructors
  • tour campus, residence and labs
You can always come for a visit and tour. During the academic year, book a student for the day experience.

Choose 3 of these 11 sessions to help you choose your direction. Room numbers will be provided on March 20.
Pre-professional Programs: Learn the ins and outs of non-direct entry programs such as pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and medicine, as well as the importance of a back-up plan. Meet Jane from ALES (Agriculture, Life, and Environmental Sciences) at the U of A who is in the process of applying to medicine will share the details of her journey thus far.
Campus & Residence Walking Tour: No map required as our volunteers will lead you around campus
Climb on the Commerce Car: Learn about options for pursuing a degree in Business and meet a former UT student who is currently working as an accountant
Faster than a Speeding Bullet Train: Technology in the Classroom: Conductor Cryderman, will lead the way through cyberspace, exploring technology used in the classroom.
A Head-on Collision: Psychology versus Sociology: Our psychology and sociology instructors debate the merits and perspectives of each branch of the social sciences
Journey through the Science Labs: Visit the physics, chemistry, and biology labs to see what is brewing and growing behind those closed doors. Everyone welcome - even students pursuing Arts and Education may need to take a science class
Come on, Baby, Do the Locomotion: Experience what happens in the gym with games and activities from Elementary and Secondary Education courses. Students have the option to observe or participate. (Proper footwear is required).
Virtual Visit with U of S Nursing: Skype with Sheila Watts, U of S Nursing advisor, and learn about first-year UT courses required for this popular transfer route, the application process, and what to expect in the Nursing degree.
Destination Education: Begin your studies in UT and transfer to the U of A or U of S to become a teacher and share your love of learning.
On Track to Becoming a Social Worker: What can you expect when you become a social worker? Hear from professionals in the field.
