rodeo club images from 1969 to 2014Rodeo has been going strong for over 40 years at Lakeland College.

Whether just part of the Rodeo Club for fun, or in the more committed Rustlers competitive team, you'll have the facilities and time to pursue rodeo.

Fast facts:

  • Practices are four nights a week in a heated indoor arena, as well as extra time mornings and weekends when the schedule permits.
  • Stock is supplied for a small fee per year.
  • Wednesdays are for rough stock and fun rodeos
  • If you want to board your horse on campus, you must be a member of the rodeo club. Membership is $50.
  • There are usually over 80 horses on campus
  • There is a Rodeo Club barn. Members are responsible for keeping it clean
  • There are 12 box stalls and 22 tie stalls in the club barn
  • Outdoor pens are available
  • All pens come with an automatic water bowl, windbreaks and some horse shelters.
  • An outdoor arena is next to the indoor arena.
  • Hay is available to feed free-choice to horses
  • If you are a member of the competitive rodeo team, you may be eligible to bring more than one horse on campus
  • Over $15,000 in scholarships are given out each year to current and prospective rodeo student athletes.
