User names and passwords are the most frequent questions about using D2L. A complete FAQ is available at the bottom of the page.

Here's the quick and dirty.

Usernames:  Whether you are a new or a returning student,  your username is your first name, period (dot), last name, day of birth.
Example Belinda Smith born on May 28: Belinda.Smith28 or belinda.smith28.
Example Jake Brown born on Jan 10
: Jake.Brown10 or jake.brown10

There are exceptions related to numbers less than 10, hyphenated names, shortened names, and names with apostrophes and accents.

Passwords: The first time you use your account, your password is you birthday in mmddyy format. So Oct 20, 1996 would be 102096.
