Bachelor of Science - Nursing - Popular Transfer Routes

This four-year nursing degree starts with 1 year of pre-professional studies in arts and sciences. Three years of more specific nursing courses follow. You’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
You would take your 1st year at Lakeland. Then, apply to transfer to the U of S.
You would choose 30 credits from these required courses:- English – ENGL 112
- Chemistry – CHEM 101
- Biology – BIOL 107
- Statistics (STAT 151) or an elective
- Psychology – PSYCO 104 & 105
- Elective such as Native Studies (NS 110) and Nutrition (NUTR 110)
- Native Studies NS 110
- Nutrition 110
- An elective
- You must have at least a 60% weighted average in the required courses. We encourage you to try for a 75% or higher. When there is competition for spots in a program, a higher GPA is to your advantage.
- Lakeland ENGL 112 is a 6-credit course. Taking it covers your 3-credit English requirement plus 3 credits of an elective
- To take your psychology requirement, you will need to take both PSYCO 104 and 105.
- HEED 110 transfers as HLTH 100.3. However, it can’t be used an elective.
- You must also meet all the admission requirements of the degree-granting institution. This may include appropriate high school courses and averages.
- Admission is competitive. There may be quotas for number of students admitted to the degree program at the receiving institution.
- Some receiving institutions specify a minimum grade for transfer credit.
- If you change a program or receiving institution, be aware that there may not be room in the new program.
