This summer Lakeland College will host Feast on the Farm, a celebration like no other. Everyone is invited to participate in the second annual event at the Vermilion campus on Saturday, August 19
“Lakeland College’s Feast on the Farm is a culinary experience to celebrate agriculture,” says Geoff Brown, associate dean of Lakeland’s School of Agricultural Sciences. “This party includes a delicious meal, a rousing live auction, and great music from the talented Dirt Rich Band.”

Guests will venture outdoors for an entertaining evening at Lakeland’s Centre for Sustainable Innovation in support of the Lakeland’s bold vision to expand student success and student leadership initiatives, modernize facilities on the Student-Managed Farm – Powered by New Holland, and grow the area of applied research.

“Feast on the Farm is inspired by Open Farm Days, where farms open their gates to the public to share the farming experience. We will showcase the strong ties to agriculture our college has maintained since 1913. Today, as a global leader in student-managed learning experiences, Lakeland continues to create opportunities for our students to take the lead,” says Brown.

From the heavy oil power engineering students who generate heat and power for the Lloydminster campus in the Energy Centre to the agricultural sciences students who run a profitable agribusiness on the Student-Managed Farm – Powered by New Holland, Lakeland students take charge of their education.

Career-relevant, student leadership opportunities enable Lakeland students to excel today – just as they have since the college opened in 1913. All proceeds from Feast on the Farm will support valuable hands-on learning and leading experiences.

Tickets for Feast on the Farm are $100 each and can be purchased by contacting Lakeland's event services team at 780 871 5413.
