Dual Credit for Alberta High School Students

High school students from across eastern Alberta have taken dual credit courses through Lakeland College.
 
Those courses have ranged through environmental sustainability through health care aide and from apprenticeship to play.
 
Courses for the Winter 2021 semester included:.
  • American Sign Language Part 1
  • Basic Energy Principles
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Hairstyling (safety, personal and professional development & facility and equipment)
  • Health, Nutrition and Safety (early learning and childhood education)
  • Introduction to Esthetics
  • Introduction to Heavy Oil & Gas
  • Introduction to Soil Science
  • Play (early learning and childcare)
Dual credit courses are open to Alberta students in grades 10 through 12. Classes are live online. Recordings are also on D2L, Lakeland’s learning management system.
 
Courses, including textbooks, have been free of charge.
