With a background rooted in research, strategic management and organizational leadership,
Dr. François Paradis possesses extensive expertise in agriculture research, innovation,
partnerships, and post-secondary leadership. Dr. Paradis has dedicated his career
to advancing the agriculture industry and has played a central role in aligning applied
research with the needs of industry, government and community partners.
As dean of Applied Research at Lakeland College, Dr. Paradis has led numerous applied
research initiatives that strengthen innovation in agriculture, agri-technology, and
sustainable resources management—sectors critical to Alberta’s economy and Canada’s
broader innovation agenda. He has overseen the development of research infrastructure,
fostered partnerships, championed the development of student training opportunities,
and successfully secured federal and provincial funding to support research capacity
and collaborative R&D projects. His leadership resulted in meaningful outcomes that
address industry needs.
