Feast on the Farm is shaping up to be one of the most exciting events of the summer.

“We look forward to sharing both our agricultural history and current innovations in student-led learning throughout Lakeland at this year's Feast on the Farm. We're also thrilled to kick off our 30th anniversary celebrations for our Student-Managed Farm - Powered by New Holland,” says Dr. Alice Wainwright-Stewart, president and CEO of Lakeland.

The 2019-20 academic year marks three decades of Lakeland's award-winning student-managed learning model on the farm. Lakeland will mark its anniversary throughout the year at annual events such as Band in the Sand, Open House, Little Royal and Homecoming 2020.

“Lakeland's student-led learning concept nurtures innovation. Our agricultural sciences students don't just apply the theory they learn in class on our SMF, they manage a commercial-scale crop enterprise. They conduct livestock research trials, manage a Dairy Learning Centre, take the lead in our Animal Health Clinic and more,” says Wainwright-Stewart.

“They graduate with the experience and knowledge needed to continue to excel in industry, which is what makes a Lakeland education different and a Lakeland grad stand out to potential employers. It's what drives the work we do at Lakeland.”

Proceeds from Feast on the Farm support and enhance student leadership at Lakeland, including scholarships as well as support for student-managed activities across all of the programs.
