More than 300+ awards, bursaries and scholarships can be viewed and searched in our new awards platform.

If you're a prospective student, parent or teacher, all you need to do is use the button below, then start searching.

If you're a current student, we recommend 3 steps:

  1. Sign into the platform. Be sure to use your Lakeland College EDU email address and password.
  2. Review your Applicant Record. Once you're in the platform, click on the grey box located at the bottom left corner of your screen. Note: if it is blank, you are not signed in correctly.
  3. Create your General Application

You only have to create a general application once in an academic year. But you'll need to sign into the platform for award alerts. For example, you may be notified that you're eligible for a particular award that requires additional information. You'll get the details and a deadline.

Before you click, check out the FAQs below .

No. The listing that appears on the platform (referred to as All Opportunities) is a public site.

Whether you are a future or current student, school counsellor or advisor, parent, staff member, or donor, you can search our listing of opportunities.

You only need to sign in if you are a current student at Lakeland and want to apply for awards, bursaries, and/or scholarships.

;Our platform uses opportunities for all the awards, bursaries and scholarships that we have listed.

The platform uses the term scopes for the type of filters you may use in a search. This includes our academic schools and even things like 4-H.

Entrance awards are listed on the platform. This includes the academic excellence scholarship. Visit the platform to learn more about what is available.

Currently, however, you can't apply for those entrance awards on the platform.

Accepted students will be emailed when it's time to apply and how to apply. Usually those emails go out in March.

  • Awards include academic achievement, but also consider criteria such as community involvement, volunteerism, perseverance and other factors
  • Bursaries are based on financial need. You need to be have satisfactory academic standing (passing your classes) to receive a bursary
  • Scholarships weigh more heavily on academic excellence. Sometimes include criteria related to leadership in the community or college. Often of a higher value

We do have a small number of awards that include prizes. Examples include gift certificates, items supplied by the donor, and medals. However, most of our awards are funds paid to you, the recipient.

The award portal has been preloaded with your information from our student record system. The platform looks at this information, as well as how you answered our generation application questions, to determine addition awards (opportunities) you could apply for. This usually means answering more questions.

The portal will alert you:

  • when an application period is open
  • if it thinks you are eligible for additional opportunities
  • what questions you need to answer to be considered.

You'll receive an email the week the application period opens. You'll also see these alerts when you login to the award portal.

After an application period closes, we review both all the applications we receive as well as recommendations made to the Lakeland College Awards Committee.

Once the committee approves recipients, each recipient will receive a notice of award email. This email includes details about your award and next steps.

Please readthis email carefullyand follow the directions.
