Livestock Research

From animal health and nutrition to grazing systems and production management, livestock research addresses the challenges and opportunities facing today’s producers.

Researchers work alongside industry partners and producers to evaluate practices, technologies and management strategies in real-world settings. Focused on practical application and measurable results, products help strengthen animal welfare, productivity and sustainability. Research findings are shared with producers and industry to make informed decision-making across the livestock sector.

Lakeland College​'s state-of-the-art livestock facilities, and full-time livestock research scientist enable the college to be a trusted livestock research partner. Key investments include, dedicated research cattle, available pasture land, GrowSafe systems, SmartFeed and cattle handling equipment.
