Adrie Nash and Tianna HarmsLakeland College interior design technology (IDT) students earned first- and third-place finishes in the 2026 National Kitchen and Bath student design competition, continuing a winning tradition that spans 21 years.

Adrie Nash won first place for her leopard print-shoe inspired kitchen design and Tianna Harms won third place for her Texas nature-inspired kitchen design.

The students’ achievements highlight the creativity, technical skills and practical design knowledge developed through Lakeland’s program.

“Our continued success in the student design competitions highlights the talent, passion, and industry readiness our program fosters,” says Rochelle Horne, head of the interior design technology program at Lakeland. “Our small class sizes support immersive, hands-on learning that prepares students for employment.”

For more than two decades, Lakeland students have earned recognition in the international competition, demonstrating their ability to apply classroom learning to real-world design challenges and compete with emerging designers from across Canada. The winners received a prize package that includes a trip to Las Vegas for the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in 2027 and scholarships.
