Maintenance requests:
For current residents, we have implemented a new way to submit your maintenance requests. Log in to the Residence Portal to report any necessary repairs in your residence. Please note that once you have submitted a request, you have given permission for maintenance staff to enter to make the repair. Requests are reviewed and prioritized between 9 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday. It may take between one and three days to respond to your request, depending on the urgency of the repair and the volume of requests received.
Residence move out:
Whether you are vacating Residence mid-term or at the end of your contract, you must follow the proper check-out procedure as outlined below:
About moving out
A student who voluntarily breaks their Residence Contract without 4 weeks written notice to the Residence Office, or is terminated from the College, or is evicted from Residence will be charged rent up to the Friday of the week they leave and will forfeit all of their damage deposit.
A student who voluntarily breaks their Residence Contract with 4 weeks written notice to the Residence Office will forfeit $100 from their damage deposit.
You must vacate Residence and follow check out procedures 24 hours after your last exam or noon of the last day of your contract, whichever comes first. If you are flying home, you must ensure that your departure meets the move-out date for Residence as you will not be allowed to stay in Residence after the move-out date. You may apply at the Residence Office for a contract extension in extenuating circumstances.
Follow the steps listed above to ensure a smooth transition out of residence— and to avoid a $100 improper check-out fee.
The condition of both your room, and all common areas will determine your damage deposit refund as well as your acceptance into residence next year. Any common areas that are left in an unfit condition will result in the entire dorm being fined - regardless if you participated in the mess. Your marks and/or graduation status will be held back if you owe any residence fees due to deductions or fines.
