Effective June 11, 2025, Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) has been repealed and replaced by 2 new acts:

 

As a public post-secondary institution, Lakeland College complies with Alberta's Access to Information Act (ATIA). The college supports the public’s right to access information. Where appropriate, the college will actively share information and provide access by way of routine information requests. Lakeland also recognizes an individual’s right to access their personal information.

There are 2 types of access requests: routine and formal.

Lakeland College strives to be as transparent as possible by making general information available through routine disclosure, provided the information is not subject to an exception under the ATIA, and doesn't include personal information about other individuals.

The majority of requests for access to ATIA can be handled routinely by making a direct request to the department responsible for the information. If you're unsure which department to contact, please email hello@lakelandcollege.ca.

Formal requests should be submitted to the Privacy Office at privacy@lakelandcollege.ca.

The standard processing time for a request is up to 30 calendar days. This timeline begins once the application and any applicable fees have been received by the office.
