Convocation 2025 planning is underway!
Friday, May 30 — Lloydminster Campus Convocation, Lloyd Gymnasium
- 10:30 am - All Lloydminster programs
Friday, June 6 — Vermilion Campus Convocation, Vermilion Stadium (5510 College Dr, Vermilion, AB)
- 10 am - Environmental Sciences, Human Services, Trades and Fire & Emergency Services programs
- 2:30 pm - Agricultural Sciences (at 1:45 pm, a class picture will be taken west of the stadium in front of New Holland equipment)
There is no limit to the number of guests you can bring but seating is limited and on a first come first seated basis.
The ceremonies will be live-streamed and there will be a photographer on site the days of the ceremonies for cap/gown photos with friends and family (drop-in only before and after the ceremonies). There is no obligation to purchase any photos. Session fees are payable at time of session to the photographer. For more information, contact reimaginedportraitart@gmail.com.

10:30 am May 30 Lakeland College Gymnasium
It’s just a short time until your Convocation Ceremony at the Lloydminster Campus! As you prepare for your attendance at the event, we’d like to share some details with you. If it is determined you are not eligible to graduate at this time, your Academic Advisor or Program Chair will be in contact with you.
As this is a formal event, we ask that you dress accordingly. It is anticipated that the ceremony will run just under 2 hours. Upon completion of the exercises, you will follow the board, faculty and special guests out of the gym down to the Servus Credit Union Hospitality Centre (cafeteria) for the Convocation tea that will be held immediately following the ceremony. This is an opportunity for your family and friends to meet your classmates and your instructors and take pictures. Everyone is welcome!
Family and friends are welcome to take pictures before, during and after the exercises. The convocation program will be made available on our website the day of convocation for you and your friends and family to view, download and print! There will also be a professional photographer on site to take pictures on a drop-in, first come basis. The fee is $20 payable at the time of the session and there is no obligation to purchase photos.
There is no limit to the number of guests you can bring to the ceremony, but seating is limited and available on a first come first served basis. Due to the nature, length of the program and limited number of seats, it is recommended to leave little ones at home.
The schedule for the day:
8:30-9:30 am: pick up your gown, cap/tassel, and stole, room 1011
- proceed to your assigned classroom where you will get ready. Will be posted in gown room.
9:50 am: must be gowned and waiting in your assigned area
10:15 am sharp: assembly for academic procession will start
- you will be placed in alphabetical order by last name
10:25 sharp: procession will start with ceremony commencing at 10:30 am sharp
- you will follow board, faculty & special guests into the venue where you will be seated
12:00 pm: Convocation Tea immediately following the ceremony
- Everyone welcome!
3:00 pm: all gowns and stoles to be returned. Caps and tassels are yours to keep!
* Please do not leave purses or valuables in any of the rooms*

The student with the highest academic standing on each campus receives the Governor General's medal.
President's Medals are presented at each campus convocation.
Graduates who are 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation alumni are also recognized with generation pins.
Distinguished citizens are convocation speakers.
