Feast

Lakeland College is pleased to welcome Cenovus Energy as the title sponsor for the sold-out Feast on the Farm.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, guests will gather on the grounds at Lakeland's Research Centre at the Vermilion campus for the ultimate in grassroots dining. Funds raised at this annual event go directly towards student-led initiatives at the college.

This year marks the first time the event will be held since 2019.

“We are so appreciative that Cenovus Energy has come on board to help us welcome Feast on the Farm back. Thank you to Cenovus and the entire community for coming together to support our students. All funds raised go directly to support initiatives which encourage and enhance student innovation,” says Dr. Alice Wainwright-Stewart, president and CEO of Lakeland College.

Cenovus has supported Lakeland in other capacities throughout the years, including being a major contributor to the college's Energy Centre, which includes the Cenovus Energy Lab on the Lloydminster campus. Cenovus also supported the student awards program.

“Feast on the Farm raises money for exemplary grassroots student-led programs that nourish minds and build experience, ensuring a strong, healthy community and region both now and for future generations,” said Kent Miller, Cenovus Energy's Director of the Lloydminster Upgrader. “Cenovus supports opportunities that help build resilient communities, where we live and work.”

The first Feast on the Farm was held at Lakeland College in 2016. Since then, close to $100,000 has been raised at the event thanks to generous sponsors and attendees. Revenue has supported student-led projects and initiatives that strengthen hands-on learning so students can go beyond the classroom. Examples include design and construction of a natural playscape, the redesign of the interior design technology program's project room, and projects on the Student-Managed Farm - Powered by New Holland. Funds also supplied new equipment for hands-on learning at the Emergency Training Centre, the development of a family literacy project, and more.

Tickets for Feast on the Farm Presented by Cenovus Energy are sold out.
