Meet the team
Feast on the Farm presented by Cenovus Energy has grown to be Lakeland's premier fundraising event. It combines celebrating our agricultural roots and highlighting our students success both in the classroom and in industry.
In particular, supporting all the unique-to-Lakeland learning opportunities our students have for hands-on learning, as well as to lead and manage.
Examples include:
- projects on the Student-Managed Farm - Powered by New Holland
- the annual Border Beauty Showcase
- new equipment for hands-on learning at the Emergency Training Centre
- development of a family literacy project
- a wellness symposium coordinated by our human services students
- Employment skills enhancement program's Big Cook project
- international study trips
- university transfer community garden
Feast on the Farm has evolved to an annual sought after event that features our students in many elements:
- participating in an engaging student panel during the program, where they share their unique experiences of being a student and the impacts they have seen when entering their careers.
- ushering guests from the bus to their seats.
- emceeing the event program.
- helping with event set up, which takes about 4 days
Thanks to generous supporters and sponsors Feast on the Farm has raised over $430,000 since 2016, and has funded more than 35 student-led initiatives and projects.
