Connect classroom and workplace
Work-integrated learning (WIL) is a form of experiential education that intentionally connects classroom learning with real-world workplace experience. At Lakeland College, WIL allows you to apply the knowledge and skills you're developing to meaningful work in professional settings. These experiences are thoughtfully designed to reflect where you are in your learning journey, helping you to strengthen program outcomes while building practical, transferable skills.
Through partnerships between the college, employers, and students, WIL enhances academic relevance, supports industry needs and prepares graduates to enter the workforce with confidence, experience and career clarity.
What does this look like?
- Employer engagement and partnership building
- Coordination and logistics of student placements
- Student professional support (coaching, career-readiness workshops, interview prep)
- Continuous employer support through placement
