Official Rules (the “Rules”) for contests & giveaways (“Competition”) offered by Lakeland College (“Lakeland” or “We” or “Our”).

Definitions

“Competition” contest and/or giveaway.

“Entrant” Lakeland student, alumni and/or employee, unless otherwise stated.

“Winner” Lakeland student, alumni and/or employee, unless otherwise stated chosen at random, from all eligible entries received for the Competition.

“Prize or Prize(s)” item or items to be randomly won in Competitions.

General Information

By entering a Lakeland Competition on a social media platform/channel, for example, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or Twitter, an Entrant is indicating his/her/their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Competition Period

The Competition's starting and closing dates, times and details will be announced in a status post.

Sponsors

Lakeland may sponsor Competitions on a social media platform/channel, for example, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or Twitter. The Competitions are in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with the social media platform/channel, for example, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or Twitter.

How to enter

The Competition entry details will be announced on applicable social media platforms/channels, unless otherwise specified. Competitions are open to Lakeland students, alumni and employees, unless otherwise stated. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per Entrant, unless otherwise specified. Multiple entries from the same Entrant will be disqualified. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter a Lakeland Competition, unless otherwise specified.

Winners

Winners will be chosen at random, from all entries received and verified by Lakeland and/or its agents. The Winner will be notified in the Competition post, as well as by direct message (DM) within five (5) business days of the Competition's closing date. If the Winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 15 business days of notification, We reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the Winner. Lakeland will notify the Winner when and where the prize can be collected or will be delivered.

Prizes

The Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, except at Lakeland's sole discretion. Lakeland will not be responsible, however, if factors beyond Our reasonable control prevent a Prize from being fulfilled. In any such event, the Winner will be provided with substitute prizes or cash equivalent. Prizes will only be granted to verified Winner(s). The verified Winner(s) shall be required to make arrangements with Lakeland to claim the Prizes within 15 days of being notified.

Liability

Lakeland reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of force majeure, catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the Our control. Any changes to the Competition will be posted on the social media platform/channel as soon as possible by Lakeland. No responsibility will be accepted by Lakeland for entries not received for any reason whatsoever. Lakeland is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any Entrant by any third party connected with these Competitions.

Privacy

The name, contact information, and eligibility information of entrants is collected by Lakeland pursuant to section 33(c) of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the “FOIP Act”), for the purpose of administering the Competition. Lakeland may also disclose the name and entry of the Competition Winner(s) publicly for advertising or promotional purposes.
