At Lakeland, official documents are issued and accessed through MyCreds™, a secure digital document sharing platform. Why use MyCreds™?

After a document is requested, it will be uploaded directly to MyCreds™ within 1-2 business days. 

Frequently asked questions

Yes, documents issued through MyCreds™ are authentic, tamper-evident and legally valid. Documents in your MyCreds™ account contains digital signatures that meet the legal requirements for certified digital documents in countries around the world. This information can only be accessed by you, Lakeland College and whoever you choose to share your documents with.

MyCreds™ is owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC), and powered by Digitary, an international document issuing organization that stores your documents securely.

Yes, when you review your document, you can select ‘Access control' where you can see who has access to it. If you have shared your document in error or wish to disable access to a recipient, you can do so within this window by selecting the disable button.

You must first request your transcript or confirmation of enrolment through the My Lakeland portal. Once you receive an email confirmation and log in to your MyCreds™ account, select and open your document. For more details, please visit the MyCredsTM support hub.

When you first share a document, you will receive a notification in the top right-hand corner of your MyCreds™ account to inform you that your share was successful. You can also open the document to review your share history.

Yes, when you share your document with an organization, you can include an access PIN and/or an expiry date. Please note that an access PIN or expiry date are not mandatory when sharing your document.

If you choose to include an access PIN, it is essential that you share this code with the recipient as they will be unable to access the document without it. You can review the access code by selecting the recipient within the ‘Access control' tab in MyCreds™.

If you choose to set an expiry date, the recipient will be unable to access your document once the expiry date arrives.

You can still access your MyCreds™ account by going to the MyCreds login page and create a login using the preferred email included on your My Lakeland profile.  

If you are unsure of which email you have on your My Lakeland portal, you can review this information by:

  • Logging into the portal
  • Click on the profile tile
  • Select contact details
    • Your preferred email will be noted by a checkmark

MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ is owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC). It is a national credential wallet for post-secondary learners that has been created by Canadian higher education leadership.

It represents an example of how ARUCC and Canadian colleges, institutes and universities are committed to ensuring official and secure document exchange and adhering to the Groningen Declaration Network (GDN) principles, which emphasize, “Citizens worldwide should be able to consult and share their authentic educational data with whomever they want, whenever they want, wherever.” ARUCC became a signatory to the GDN principles in 2015.
