Turn your business administration diploma into a degree.

Stay at the Lloydminster campus for another year or 2, and earn a management or commerce degree.

You can broaden your career choices with one of these Athabasca University degree routes:

4-year Bachelor of Commerce – general degree, or major in:

- accounting
- business technology management
- finance
- human resource management
- general
- Indigenous business
- marketing

3-year Bachelor of Management - general degree, no major options.

You’ll take both face-to-face and online university level classes. Face-to-face courses are at the Lloydminster campus. Options include both business and university transfer courses.

This degree route isn't part of Lakeland’s university transfer AU degree completion program.

Requirements

There are 3 admission requirements. They can also be considered steps:

Complete a Lakeland business administration diploma.

Together you’ll create a degree planner that is unique to you, your interests, and your career plans.

Please note: We recommend meeting with the advisor as early as possible. Athabasca University requires approximately 3 – 4 weeks to evaluate your transcript, sometimes longer. If you are getting a student loan, you'll need to have applied by June 30.

If you do get a late start, you can begin your degree any time throughout the year.

You will complete the Athabasca University (AU) application with the academic advisor. You will also need to pay a one-time application fee to AU.

There are no additional program requirements.

As you prepare for your start date, review this important information.

Enrolment is the final step after you've been accepted and the timetable has been set.

If you have not met with your academic advisor yet, you will need to book an appointment to choose your courses.
Once you've been enrolled, your schedule will be available in My Lakeland.

When you meet the grades and credit requirements of Athabasca University, you will be awarded a degree.

One of the benefits of staying at Lakeland to complete this collaborative degree is that you can still take face-to-face and online Lakeland courses that will transfer to the 3rd and 4th year of your degree.

Your best planning resource is the business academic advisor. You'll work together to create a degree planner.

Your degree planner will be unique to you. For example, you’ll consider your schedule, your previous courses and the degree's course requirements.

You'll choose from online Athabasca University courses in a variety of subject areas.

You will choose classes and create your schedule with the academic advisor. Once those classes are set, you'll be able to see your class schedule on your My Lakeland student portal.
