Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses

Arm yourself with EMS courses from Lakeland College’s Emergency Training Centre.

Our only full-time program is the medical stream of the emergency services technology (EST) program.

However, we offer multiple courses related to first aid.  All first aid training is certified by the Canadian Red Cross.

Course ID: LP101

Course description: Learn standard first aid skills needed during a medical emergency or accident. This 14–16-hour course is recommended for the general public or workplaces with a low probability of performing CPR. This course includes:

  • injury prevention
  • CPR training
  • AED training

Certification is valid for three years.

Evaluation: practical evaluation, open-book written exam

Certification: valid for 3 years
