These courses are for beginners to those currently working with fire extinguishers. This includes private and corporate organizations that want to perform these services in their certified shops.

Course Description: This course focuses on:
- inspecting, maintaining, servicing and hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers
- recognizing standards for the selection and installation of extinguishers
- setting up, maintaining and managing proper fire extinguisher records and inspection tags.
This course is approved by the Fire Technical Council as meeting the requirements for a certificate of training as per the Alberta Fire Code. Successful students will be awarded a Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Maintenance Certificate.
Evaluation: Practical evaluation, proctored written exam

Course Description: This 4-hour course is for administration staff and lay people. You will learn
- the components of the fire tetrahedron
- different types of fire
- classes of extinguishers and their rating system
- the PASS (pull, aim, squeeze and sweep) method of using portable extinguishers.
- how to extinguish small Class A and Class B fires with a 1 kg multipurpose extinguisher
- to recognize the limitations of small portable fire extinguishers
Evaluation: Practical evaluation, proctored written exam
