Bentley Building construction

For more than 50 years, the Newcombe N. Bentley Building has been a hub for students to excel and prepare for the real world.

It's home to our renowned interior design technology program and a range of human services programs, including our award-winning early childhood education program.

Named after a former college principal, the Bentley Building opened in 1969.

Modernization project

Today, the Bentley Building is transforming and taking shape. In 2023, the Government of Alberta government announced a $13.3 million investment to revitalize this essential structure.

Slated to open in September 2026, the renovated and expanded Bentley Building will have:

  • 13 flexible classrooms designed for multiple uses.
  • a modern interior design wing, with two design studios, a computer lab, sample and project spaces, and printer room.
  • a child development centre and labs with observation rooms.
  • a playroom and play lab, and seamless access to an outdoor natural playscape.
  • multiple makerspaces.
  • child and youth care counselling practice rooms.
  • breakout rooms and student gathering spaces.
  • a smudge-safe Indigenous lounge.
  • accessible and inclusive washrooms.
