You’ll take a maximum of 5 courses per semester. You'll be focusing on the breadth and major requirements for your planned transfer route. Talk to the academic advisor about your 2nd year options.

Popular universities to transfer to are:

Note: Completing university transfer courses doesn't guarantee you admission to degree programs at universities.

You must also meet all the admission requirements of the degree-granting institution. This may include:

  • specific high school courses.
  • competitive admission average - there may be quotas for the number of students admitted to the degree program at the receiving institution.
  • a minimum grade for transfer - some receiving institutions specify a minimum grade for transfer credit.
  • the number of available seats in a program - if you change your program or your receiving institution, be aware that there may not be room in the new program.
  • residency - taking the required percentage of courses at the university (typically 50%).

Athabasca University routes

Through an agreement with Athabasca University (AU), you can complete:

Please note: The links to the Athabasca site are for information only. Lakeland courses have different numbering.

What else you need to know

  • Program delivery is blended. You'll take a mix of face-to-face  courses at Lakeland and online AU classes.
  • You'll need a minimum of 10 courses (30 credits) through AU to earn your degree for the Bachelor of Arts routes.
  • The Bachelor of General Studies degree doesn't have a residency requirement, which means students are not required to take any classes online.
