  • Take 57 credits of University Transfer classes for the University of Calgary or MacEwan University, plus an online social work course through the corresponding university.
  • Take 24 to 30 credits of University Transfer courses for the University of Regina.
    • For the social work program, 30 credits are required, including INDG 100 and SW 100. Lakeland doesn't offer equivalents, so you'll need to complete these courses online through the University of Regina (U of R). Please register as a visiting student directly with U of R.
    • Alternatively, you can complete 30 credits at Lakeland and transfer to their pre-social work program, taking INDG 100 and SW 100 in person. This path also provides opportunities for valuable work experience.

Note: Completing university transfer courses doesn't guarantee you admission to degree programs at universities.

You must also meet all the admission requirements of the degree-granting institution. This may include:

  • specific high school courses.
  • competitive admission average - there may be quotas for the number of students admitted to the degree program at the receiving institution.
  • a minimum grade for transfer - some receiving institutions specify a minimum grade for transfer credit.
  • the number of available seats in a program - if you change your program or your receiving institution, be aware that there may not be room in the new program.
  • residency - taking the required percentage of courses at the university (typically 50%).
